With our “Family Stories” database, gone are the days of passing photo albums and documents to just one individual each generation while the rest of the family misses out on being in touch with the family imagery and stories that have been collected over the years.
Starting to build your family story is as simple as dragging and dropping photos and documents or searching through your file manager and clicking on the items you want. Then you add a title for the image, the date it was taken, along with keywords (locations, events, etc.), names of family members or friends who are in the photo and a detailed description of what was happening at that time.
Images and information can easily be shared with anyone who has this program. Specific images, documents, or the whole database, can be downloaded and sent to a friend or family member.
Searches are simple using keywords or names of individuals who are recorded.
Save images as JPEG or GIF and save documents like birth certificates and more as PDF files.
Unlike other image management tools, instead of creating more files of individual images in your file manager that are difficult to organize, find and have no stories saved relating to the images, this database stores all the images within the program – allowing a person to keep detailed descriptions with the images and documents, instead of having a separate word processing document to keep the stories.
Fields that can be filled out when an image or document is uploaded:
- Title – this is required
- Persons – list all the individuals in the image, these names can be used for the search function
- Date the image was taken
- Place – type the location of the image and this can be used in the search function
- Keywords – add words that describe what is happening, wedding, birthday, etc. These can be used in the search function
- Description – unlimited space to tell the story
With the “Family Stories” database there is no more reliance on cloud based systems that may increase subscription prices or stop the program all together. This database allows you to save all the information on your own computer.

How is my information used?
FamilyStories.Store does not sell or share personal information outside of the company. All information is for internal use only. Please read our privacy policy for additional in-depth information on how we value your privacy.
How many times can I download the database software?
Each purchase allows one download within a seven day period after the purchase. Once purchased, each customer is provided a link in the digital receipt that displays online and in the email receipt that is sent. After seven days, the link is no longer valid.
Are any images or documents stored in the database on my computer accessible to FamilyStories.Store?
No. One of the primary reasons for building this database was privacy and security. Once the database is downloaded to your computer, FamilyStories.Store has no access to the information – unlike a cloud based storage system.
What happens to my information if my computer crashes?
When a person stores information in digital formats, the computer should be backed up on a regular basis. We highly recommend creating a habit of backing up your database every time information is updated or adding new documents and images. Backing up to an external storage unit like a flash drive or external hard drive should be done before shutting down. This increases the chance that data will be safe.
